Manal Kayiru 2 directed by Madhan Kumar stars S. Ve. Shekhar, Visu, Ashwin Shekhar and Poorna in the lead roles and is a sequel to the 1982 film, Manal Kayiru. Sekhar plays Kittumani while Visu will be Naradar Naidu. The plot revolves around Kittumani's daughter (Poorna), who lays out eight conditions for her husband-to-be. In this sequels, the gender roles are reversed. Naradhar Naidu takes up the mission to find the matching groom along with his assistant Swami (Swaminathan).
It's S. Ve. Shekhar, who comes out with flying colors. Every moment he appears on screen is hilarious.
Visu is back in a powerful role after a long time but he seems to have lost his magnificent voice due to health ailments. However, his advice for the young generation is interesting.
Poorna scores among the rest of the star cast with her effortless acting while Ashwin is good in parts. Delhi Ganesh, Jayashree, Kuriokose Ranga, Swaminathan, Jagan, George, and M.S. Bhaskar fits the role.
Dharan's music is average while the visuals and editing are up to the mark.
S. Ve. Shekhar has been credited with the story, screenplay, direction, and dialogue, however, the end result turns out more like a drama.
The magic in the first part is missing
