Raman Raghav 2.0 - another thriller hits the theatre this week. Anurag Kashyap is back with another novel film with Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles. Anurag Kashyap, Vikas Bahl, Vikramaditya Motwane and Madhu Mantena have co produced the film.
Raghav (Vicky Kaushal) and Raman (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) are IPS officers but complete different personalities. Raman is into drugs all the time and doesn’t spare duty hours also. Raman is shown as a serial killer where he is into a killing spree all the time. The film keeps going in a past and present visuals.
Then one day we see Raghav killing his sister and her family. Raman encounters Raghav and reveals his connection with him. The twist forms the rest party of the story and both of them discovering some hidden mysteries of their lives.
Anurag fails to create a gripping thriller which will keep the audience hooked to the screen. The plot, narration and illogical killings confuse the audience completely. The first half of the film goes in introducing the characters and establishing and wherein second half reaches to the point it becomes too out of the context and too lengthy and dragging.
Nawazuddin carries the shoulder on his films and looks very convincing as a druggie IPS officer. Jay Oza cinematography stands out and is the only winner of the film.
Overall, Raman Raghav 2.0 hyped as a super engaging thriller fails to strike a chord! Thumbs down to this one!
