The flamboyant actor has been on a spree of surprising his fans, who have been celebrating his stunning comeback in the form of his re-entry on social media, including his astounding physical transformation. Simbu, who is looking years younger once again and in a slim avatar, has since announced a number of projects he has lined up next. STR's father T Rajendar had recently formed the Tamil Nadu Movie Makers Sangam, an association of producers, which is being headed by Usha Rajendar. In a statement to the media, the Tamil Nadu Movie Makers Sangam had announced that the profits from the upcoming film starring Simbu will be used to provide financial assistance to the members of the association, including help in the form of education, medical insurance and organizing marriages, with production expected to begin soon and plans for the venture to be released later this year. The Tamil Nadu Movie Makers Sangam was first formulated and conceptualized as a rival entity to the Tamil Film Producers’ Council. Below is the official announcement:

Among his big films in development next are the mass masala political action entertainer Maanaadu being directed by Venkat Prabhu under Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions banner and featuring music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film has been carrying tremendous hype right from the moment it was first announced in mid-2018, with an action-packed intriguing teaser released earlier today to a rousing response from fans. Maanaadu incidentally is the first time Simbu is playing a Muslim character, with the film also being the first full-length feature he is working together with Venkat Prabhu and Yuvan after he made a cameo appearance in Goa in 2010.

Simbu had also completed his dubbing for Hansika's landmark film, Maha, in which he plays an extended cameo in the role of a pilot. STR's inclusion in the project took the hype surrounding the project to a whole new level as it sees him opposite Hansika after their Vaalu in 2015, with fans giving a double thumbs up for their on-screen chemistry. Likewise, Silambarasan is also playing the role of a gangster in Pathu Thala, a remake of the Kannada blockbuster Mufti, being produced by Studio Green, with with Gautham Karthik playing an undercover cop and under Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame Krishna's direction. It is to be noted that producer Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh also recently announced his next venture with STR in the lead role.
