The last and final character look poster revelation from Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan is out and this one introduces us to Arun Mozhi Varman (aka) Ponniyin Selvan, played by Jayam Ravi. It has finally become official that Jayam Ravi has played the titular character and it is going to be exciting to witness him play the Prince in this historical epic. Ponniyin Selvan is the King who was later hailed and known as the Raja Raja Chozhan. We see a fierce looking Jayam Ravi from the war field and it looks like the fans are in for some solid treat. It is going to be exciting to witness the talented star actor in a completely different dimension. 

Meanwhile, the fans are excitedly waiting to witness the highly anticipated teaser of Ponniyin Selvan which is set to be released this evening (July 8) at 6 PM on YouTube and the makers will present the first visuals of the film through the same. Ponniyin Selvan is slated for a grand theatrical release on September 30 and it will have a pan Indian release in 5 different languages - Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. The post production works are currently happening in full swing, right on track for its release on September 30. 

Produced by Lyca Productions in association with Madras Talkies, Ponniyin Selvan has music composed by A.R.Rahman, while the cinematography and editing departments are headed by Ravi Varman and Sreekar Prasad respectively. Jeyamohan has penned the dialogues while the screenplay has been taken care of by Mani Ratnam, Elango Kumaravel, and Siva Ananth. Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan play the lead roles in this film that has Sarath Kumar, Parthiban, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Lal, Jayaram, Jaya Chitra, Mohan Raman, Nizhalgal Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vikram Prabhu, Arjun Chidambaram, and others in supporting roles.
