It is time for Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan to take charge of social media and the promotions have kickstarted in style. As a pleasant surprise, the character look poster of Chiyaan Vikram was released a few hours back on social media and the poster has instantly grabbed the attention of the fans. The poster features a majestic Chiyaan Vikram seated on a horse and the makers call him a 'fearless wild tiger on the war field'. Vikram will be playing the character of Aditya Karikalan, the eldest son of the King family. Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan play the other leads and their character look posters are expected to be released one by one.

Produced by Lyca Productions on a grand scale in association with Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies, the film features an ensemble supporting cast that includes the likes of Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, Jayaram, R Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Rahman, Jayachitra, Vikram Prabhu, Ashwin Kakumanu, Lal, R Parthiban, Riyaz Khan, Mohan Raman, Arjun Chidambaram, Babu Antony, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, and others. Ravi Varman has handled the cinematography of this flick that has editing by Sreekar Prasad and art direction by Thotta Tharani.

Jeya Mohan has penned the dialogues of Ponniyin Selvan while the screenplay adaptation has been done by Elango Kumaravel, Siva Ananth and Mani Ratnam. The post production works of Ponniyin Selvan are happening in full swing across various locations, getting ready for its grand theatrical release on September 30. The film will have a pan Indian release on a record number of screens in 5 different languages - Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The film is based on the classic Tamil novel of the same name penned by Kalki Krishnamurthy.

The teaser of the film is expected to release by the end of this week or early next week and after unveiling the character look posters of main star cast, the teaser will be released.
