Chiyaan Vikram's character look poster from Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan was officially unveiled yesterday (July 4) and it instantly grabbed the attention of film buffs and fans. Vikram looked majestic and royal as the fearless wild tiger, Aditya Karikalan and the poster opened to a favourable response. Following that, the makers have now released the next character look poster and this one introduces Karthi as Vanthiyathevan and it looks solid. Karthi looks charismatic and he seems to have aced the character of Vanthiyathevan in style. Vanthiyathevan is one of the most powerful and exciting characters in the Ponniyin Selvan novel and it is going to be interesting to see how Karthi has approached the character.

The other three main characters (Arul Mozhi Varman / Ponniyin Selvan, Kundhavai, Nandhini) are expected to be released in the next three days after which the teaser of the film will be released. If rumours are to be believed, the first visual teaser of Ponniyin Selvan is expected to release either on July 8 or 11. Produced by Lyca Productions in association with Madras Talkies, the film will have music composed by the legendary A.R.Rahman, while the cinematography and editing departments are headed by Ravi Varman and Sreekar Prasad respectively.

The film features Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles while the supporting cast includes the likes of Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Jayaram, Lal, R Parthiban, Rahman, Mohan Raman, Sobhita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Riyaz Khan, Arjun Chidambaram, Babu Antony, Jaya Chitra, Vikram Prabhu, and others. Ponniyin Selvan has been made as a two part film and the first part - PS 1 will be hitting the screens on September 30. The film will have a pan Indian release on a record number of screens in 5 different languages - Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
