2021 is turning out to be a fantastic year already for Silambarasan TR as the swashbuckling actor's fans have been celebrating him more than they had gotten to in recent years. Simbu, whose physical transformation left many stunned, with his return to social media as well bringing a lot of joy, the multi-talented star had also made a number of announcements regarding his next projects. Among them, reputed Tamil film producer Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh had a few days back announced that he would be bankrolling a venture with STR in the lead role, which will be directed by blockbuster director Gautham Menon.

On Wednesday, as part of Simbu's birthday celebrations, Gautham Menon took to his Twitter page to drop the bombshell announcement that Academy Award-winning music director A. R. Rahman would be the composer for their upcoming film to be produced under the Vels Film International banner. GVM tweeted, "Dear Universe, Thank you for making this possible. It’s  @arrahman's music & his Aura that will light up our lives once again in our next collaboration. We truly believe in that. Thankfully- @SilambarasanTR_  & myself. @IshariKGanesh @VelsFilmIntl #HBDSilambarasanTR"

The upcoming Simbu, Gautham Menon and A. R. Rahman venture would be the trio's third-time collaboration after the 2010 box office blockbuster, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada in 2017. 'Oscar Nayagan' A. R. Rahman's songs and background score in both VTV and AYM continue to be remembered by fans and were a big strength to the films. There is a big talk doing the rounds online, with many speculating whether the upcoming film could be the sequel to Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. The hype shot up, especially after a short film titled Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn directed by GVM, which had STR and Trisha reprising their roles, released last year during the lockdown period last year. As of now, there has been no direct statement or confirmation in regard to the new project being a sequel to VTV. It is to be noted that ARR was also recently announced to be composing music for STR's Pathu Thala under Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame Krishna's direction being produced by Studio Green.

This latest STR film update has come as a grand end to a day for his fans, who have celebrated his birthday unlike any in many years as there were a line of announcements today, which included a film the actor will be doing for the Tamil Nadu Movie Makers Sangam. It was also revealed earlier in the day that Simbu had completed the dubbing for his portions in Hansika's landmark 50th film Maha, with the much-awaited Maanaadu teaser as well getting a stellar response.
