A controversial contestant on Bigg Boss 10, self-proclaimed Godman Swami Om passed away on Wednesday. He had been ill for the past few months and breathed his last in NCR, with the news being confirmed to Zee News by Arjun Jain, son of Swami Om's friend Mukesh Jain. He had told the leading news channel that Swami Om's health had begun deteriorating a few days back after he suffered a paralysis attack and was subsequently undergoing treatment at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). 

Speaking to Zee news, Arjun Jain said, "Swami Om was sick for the last few months. Even after recovering from the coronavirus, he had a lot of trouble walking due to weakness. After which he also had paralysis in half his body. His condition worsened 15 days ago due to paralysis. He breathed his last this morning." According to reports, Swami Om's last rites were performed earlier today at 1:30PM at Nigam Bodh Ghat, Delhi.

Swami Om's stint on Bigg Boss 10 in 2016 was highly controversial as his many of his antics drew wide attention. A number of contestants had expressed their fear and openly spoken about him and his questionable actions on the show. Swami Om was sent off Bigg Boss 10 after he threw urine on fellow housemate Bani J, with the incident leading to a big outrage on social media at the time. Post Bigg Boss, the self-proclaimed Godman continued to get entangled in many other controversies, with his name hitting the headlines on a number of occasions. 

In an interaction with India Today, Swami Om had called his fellow Bigg Boss 10 contestant Priyanka Jagga as 'dharmaputri'. He stated, "My dharamputri Priyank Jagga was my favourite contestant in the house. Out of all the girls, I found her of extraordinary character. I even made her fast for Karwa Chauth and created history in Bigg Boss house."
