The DMK President, MK Stalin is the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and he is set to take oath as the CM on May 7. Ever since the results were known, leading political personalities have been congratulating MK Stalin on the victory. Several notable film and television personalities have also been sending their best wishes to MK Stalin and the party of DMK. Actress Priya Bhavani Shankar congratulated Stalin and the party for the victory through a tweet which received a mixed reception from the netizens. A section of people on Twitter were in opinion that Priya Bhavani Shankar is a supporter of DMK party and speculated several other theories.

One of the followers stated that Priya Bhavani Shankar congratulated DMK, believing that she will get opportunities to act in movies produced by Sun Pictures, Red Giant Movies, Cloud Nine Movies, etc. Sun Pictures is owned by Kalanithi Maran, while Red Giant Movies and Cloud Nine Movies are owned by Udhayanidhi Stalin and Dhayanidhi Alagiri respectively. All three of them belong to the same family and the follower stated that the intention behind Priya's tweet is to bag film opportunities. However, Priya gave a fitting sarcastic reply to the follower and her response has won the hearts of the fans.

Priya's tweet is loosely translated in English as, "Yes sir. I am so tensed. I was told by a few knowledgeable people like you that I would get film opportunities if I congratulate the Chief Minister on the victory. That is why, I have been posting tweets, in search of opportunities".

It is good to see Priya Bhavani Shankar responding to the negative comments and it has garnered a good buzz on social media. On the contrary, Priya is one of the most sought after actors in Tamil cinema and she has several exciting projects in the lineup. Films like Kuruthi Aattam, Bommai, Oh Manapenne, Hostel, have been completed and are gearing up for release.

Priya also plays the female lead in Arun Vijay's upcoming film with director Hari and Raghava Lawrence's Rudhran.
