Chennai Police on the wee hours of Sunday received an anonymous phone call stating that a bomb is going to be planted at Thalapathy Vijay’s house located in Saligramam, Chennai. According to reports coming in, as soon as the call was received, law enforcement and a bomb squad rushed to the actor's premise. Vijay's house and the area around it were searched, but no suspicious item was recovered. The police concluded that the bomb threat was a hoax. The prankster allegedly reached the control room at midnight claiming that he was going to place a bomb at Vijay’s house before disconnecting the call. To be on the safer side, the police department has given enough protection at Vijay’s house in Saligramam and also in Neelankarai were he is currently staying. The police department has also been investigating who the prankster is.

According to the first level investigation, the police have found out that the prankster belongs to Villupuram district. More details about him will be known in the days to come. As soon as the news flashed on local television channels, Vijay fans have become restless and have been tweeting for the welfare of their favourite star. Amid the coronavirus crisis across the nation, this news of a bomb threat has only made the life of the police department even more tedious. This is also not the first time that such an incident is taking place. 20 days back, the Police Department had got a similar prank call claiming a bomb had been placed at Superstar Rajinikanth’s house. The bomb squad rushed to Rajini’s place and returned after thoroughly checking the security guard's cabin and area outside the actor's house. The officials later declared it to be the hoax call. We wish people get more responsible and stop spreading such baseless rumours which is only making affecting the harmony of police officials.
