'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu paid a visit to the Arulmigu Subramania Swamy Temple at Tiruchendur in Thoothukudi on Saturday evening, December 23, for special prayers and addressed media persons who had gathered at his arrival on the holy site. During his interaction with the press, the Tamil comedy superstar showered praises on the Tiruchendur temple saying he has found satisfaction and peace of mind during each of his visits over the years. Speaking to reporters, Vadivelu was also queried about which among the upcoming Tamil films, 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Varisu or Ajith Kumar's Varisu, would he be watching in cinemas for Pongal in January 2023.

Vadivelu did not drop any names when asked about Vijay's Varisu and Ajith's Thunivu, but expressed his wish for both films to perform successfully when they release next month. He further stated that ultimately the producers who have invested in the films must be happy with the results at the box office and should see profit at the end of the day. Videos of the iconic actor's surprise visit to the Tiruchendur temple and his reply about watching Ajith's Thunivu and Vijay's Varisu are now doing the rounds online and have taken social media by storm.

On the work front, Vadivelu recently made a big comeback to the big screen in Naai Sekar Returns released earlier this month. The film marked the Tamil comedy superstar's return to films after a five-year gap when he was last seen in a crucial role in 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Mersal in 2017. Vadivelu will be seen next in a big role in Udhayanidhi Stalin's highly-anticipated Maamannan, directed by Mari Selvaraj, and will be sharing screen space with Keerthy Suresh and Fahadh Faasil, with music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman. Vadivelu is also teaming up once again with veteran filmmaker P. Vasu for Chandramukhi 2, the sequel to the 2005 blockbuster Chandramukhi, which starred 'Superstar' Rajinikanth. The sequel has Raghava Lawrence and Thalaivii actress Kangana Ranaut as the lead stars, while Radikaa Sarathkumar has been cast in a pivotal role.
