Two-time National Award-winning actor Dhanush's next big venture, Captain Miller, is one of the most-discussed films among fans and is being directed by Rocky and Saani Kaayidham fame Arun Matheswaran. Billed to be a period action drama, the upcoming film is being produced under the prestigious Sathya Jyothi Films banner and was officially launched back in September, with photos and videos of the superstar alongside the rest of the cast and the crew of Captain Miller at the pooja ceremony taking social media by storm. 

With production progressing at a brisk pace, a fan posted a photo on Twitter stating the shooting of Captain Miller is currently being carried out at the popular Semmozhi Poonga in Chennai, leaving many wondering if the news is indeed true. With the news gaining a lot of buzz, the film's director Arun Matheswaran stepped up and cleared the air on Thursday, December 22, with a quirky response in just two words. The acclaimed filmmaker's reply has been receiving huge feedback, and fans have also been thanking him for clearing the air in quick time before any confusion would set in. Captain Miller is set in the 1930s and will see Dhanush paired with youth sensation Priyanka Arul Mohan for the first time, with the extended star cast featuring the likes of Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar for whom the film is his next big Tamil venture after he signed up for a key role in 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Jailer. The action-adventure film also stars Maanagaram hero Sundeep Kishan, Merku Thodarchi Malai actor Antony, Sillu Karuppatti actress Nivedhithaa Sathish, Sarpatta Parambarai villain John Kokken, and Malayalam actor Moor among others in pivotal roles, and will yet again see Dhanush and chart-topping National Award-winning music composer G. V. Prakash Kumar working together after their Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Mayakkam Enna, Asuran, Maaran, with the duo also awaiting the release of their Vaathi in February 2023.
