The Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (TVMI) launched an eye donation app called the 'Thalapathy Vijay Vizhiyagam' on Wednesday, December 21. A meeting of the VMI district heads was held at Vijay's Panaiyur residence along the stretch of the East Coast Road (ECR) where the eye donation app launch ceremony was presided over by the VMI General Secretary Bussy Anand, with photos and videos of the ceremony now going viral on social media. A large gathering of fans too was seen at the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam office where the 'Thalapathy Vijay Vizhiyagam' mobile application was launched, with many showering Vijay with praise for his latest noble gesture.

This latest effort by the Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam is one among the several welfare initiatives initiated over the years and will come as a step towards helping those in need of assistance when it comes to the eye donation process. The VMI has frequently also been providing eggs and milk to children on a weekly basis, while also organizing free food camps daily at Chennai, Vellore, Thanjavur, and many other places across Tamil Nadu. It is to be noted that Vijay had recently met the office bearers and members of the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam on a couple of occasions at his Panaiyur residence.

On the work front, Vijay is awaiting the release of his Varisu, which is scheduled to come out in theatres for Pongal in January 2023. Billed to be a family entertainer, the upcoming film directed by Vamshi Paidipally has been produced by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations banner and is being distributed across Tamil Nadu by Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studios banner. Vijay will also be joining hands with filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj for Thalapathy 67 after their Master in 2021 and the official announcement of the project is expected to arrive in January.
