'Thalapathy' Vijay's Varisu is set to be a wholesome family entertainer when it releases for Pongal in January 2023 and preparations are already underway to bring it out in a grand manner. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally of Thozha and Maharshi fame, the upcoming film produced by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations features music composed by Thaman. S, with two songs - 'Ranjithame' and 'Thee Thalapathy' - released already and sitting at the top of the charts. With the Varisu audio launch expected to take place in Chennai in a grand manner in the days ahead, the makers have released the much-awaited third single from the film titled 'Soul of Varisu' on Tuesday, December 20.
'Soul of Varisu' is an emotional number and has been sung by Padhma Bhushan recepient and six-time National award-winning singer K. S. Chithra to the lyrics penned by Vivek. The song is unlike the previous two tunes in Varisu - 'Ranjithame' being a fun-filled foot-tapping number, while ''Thee Thalapathy' is a high-octane electronic track appealing to the masses. Considering the film is largely targeted towards family audiences, the 'Soul of Varisu' song is expected to pop up throughout the narrative. Based on the visuals in the song's lyric video, we can expect a lot of emotional moments between Vijay and Jayasudha, who is said to be playing the role of the superstar's mother in Varisu.
Vijay will be seen sharing screen space alongside several notable names in Varisu among whom will be national sensation Rashmika Mandanna playing the female lead, with Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Jayasudha, Khushbu Sundar, SJ Suryah, Yogi Babu, Shaam, actress Sangeetha Krish, Srikanth Bigg Boss 4 fame Samyuktha Shanmughanathan, Ganesh Venkatraman among others appearing in vital roles. The film is being released Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studio banner in Tamil Nadu, while the Telugu version is titled Vaarasudu.
