Ajith Kumar and Manju Warrier are currently dubbing for their upcoming movie Thunivu which has been written and directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor under the banners of Bayview Projects LLP and Zee Studios. This will mark the third collaboration between the trio following Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai. It is scheduled to release for a Pongal release in 2023.

Music composer Ghibran who has been roped in to handle the music of Thunivu officially revealed the first single from the film which has been titled 'Chilla Chilla'. The song has been crooned by musical genius Anirudh Ravichander and written by Visagh. It is expected to release very soon. Ghibran took to his official Twitter handle to share the time he spent with the director. Sharing an image of them together, he wrote, "Catching up for a musical discussion after my director’s hectic schedule and my smile tells everything about the film PS: Yes, he is very tall 😂  #HVinoth #Thunivu ". He mentions how his smile tells everything about the film and with this one can confidently assume that the upcoming Ajith film is bound to be a good one. He also jokes about how tall the director is in comparison to him. The distribution rights of Thunivu were acquired by Red Giant Movies while its post-theatrical streaming rights were sold to Netflix and the satellite rights were sold to Kalaignar TV.

Thunivu will go head-to-head against Thalapathy Vijay starrer Varisu which is also scheduled for a 2023 Pongal release. Following that, Ajith Kumar will start shooting for his next which has been tentatively titled AK62. The yet-to-be-titled film will be helmed by Vignesh Shivan and produced by Lyca Productions with its music composed by the musical genius Anirudh Ravichander.
