According to the latest reliable reports, the grand theatrical release of Prabhas' upcoming mythological drama, Adipurush has been postponed and this news has come as a disappointment for the fans. Adipurush was scheduled to hit the screens for the festive occasion of Pongal / Sankranti in January 2023, but latest developments suggest that the film is most likely to be pushed. Additional information is that the film is looking for a possible release window in the summer. If reports are to be believed, the release has been pushed due to the extensive CG / VFX work that is involved.

It is said that the graphics/animation works are taking longer time than anticipated as a result of which the team has decided to push the film's release. An official announcement from the makers is expected to arrive very soon. Adipurush is a pan Indian film that is planned to be released in 5 languages and now, its exit will pave way for other Pongal releases to gain more screens. It is going to be a massive boost for Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu and Ajith Kumar's Thunivu both of which are scheduled to hit the screens for Pongal 2023.

Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya and Nandamuri Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy are the other potential Pongal releases and one among the two is likely to be postponed. Adipurush's postponement has helped the other Pongal releases and further updates are awaited. Adipurush is directed by Om Raut of Tanhaji fame and features Kriti Sanon as the female lead. Saif Ali Khan plays the key antagonist in the film. The teaser of Adipurush which released a few weeks back opened to mixed reception from the audiences.

Apart from Adipurush, Prabhas has two other exciting mega biggies in his pipeline - KGF director Prashanth Neel's Salaar and Mahanati director Nag Ashwin's Project K. Happening and busy days ahead for Prabhas.
