Leading Tamil actor Karthi is on cloud nine after all three of his 2022 films, Viruman, Ponniyin Selvan: 1, and Sardar, have turned out to be massive box-office successes. The star actor announced his next big film earlier this week titled Japan, which has him playing the titular role and is set to begin filming under the direction of acclaimed filmmaker Raju Murugan, who is best known for his films like Cuckoo, Joker, and Gypsy. Being produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu under their Dream Warrior Pictures banner, it has been announced that the much-awaited Japan first look poster will be released on November 14 on the occasion of Children's Day in India. Below is Dream Warrior Pictures' Japan first look announcement:

Japan is Karthi's milestone film and his 25th venture in Tamil cinema, and expectations are already huge considering he is on a massive winning streak after three back-to-back box office hits. The film is set to begin filming soon in the days ahead and will see youth sensation and Malayalam actress Anu Emmanuel playing the female lead, and is her next big Tamil venture after she was last seen in the Sivakarthikeyan hit, Namma Veettu Pillai, in 2019. Japan also has popular Telugu actor Sunil, who appeared in Allu Arjun's nationwide blockbuster, Pushpa: The Rise, and he is expected to be playing in a negative role once again, while cinematographer-filmmaker Vijay Milton is said to be a part of the film's cast.

Japan includes a highly-talented technical team starting with chart-buster music director G. V. Prakash Kumar, who is composing the songs and background score for a Karthi film after Sardar. The upcoming film also has cinematography by Ravi Varman, who is fresh off his stunning work in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan, followed by Philomin Raj for the editing, Anbariv for the stunts and action, Yugabharathi for the lyrics, while Praveen Raja is the costume designer.
