Udhayanidhi Stalin will be seen next in the highly-anticipated film, Kalaga Thalaivan, releasing in theatres worldwide on November 18. The actor/producer-politician, who has been on a roll of late after hitting the bullseye by releasing several big films under his Red Giant Movies banner in Tamil Nadu that included Etharkkum Thunindhavan, Beast, Don, Vikram, Thiruchitrambalam, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, Sardar, and Love Today, recently sat down for a candid conversation with National Award-winning film critic Baradwaj Rangan, the Editor-in-Chief of Galatta Plus, to talk about the upcoming crime thriller venture, while also revealing his father and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin's comments about his films.

Udhayanidhi Stalin said, "He (M. K. Stalin) watches all my films before their release. I show a copy as soon as it gets ready. If the film is good, he'll say it's good. If it's too good, he'll acknowledge it. If it's too bad, he'll not speak much and walk away saying 'okay'." Regarding whether his father would advise him on the film roles he should do, Udhayanidhi stated, "He hasn't advised me as such before and there isn't any restriction to do a specific kind of film. If I act in a good film, I'll feel proud to tell him that he'll like that film. Nenjuku Needhi is a film I like a lot as it had the title of my grandfather's ('Kalaignar' Karunanidhi) book and I felt proud when I showed him the film. He hasn't yet watched Kalaga Thalaivan as the copy isn't ready yet and it got censored today. So, he will watch it in another 3 or 4 days."

Kalaga Thalaivan is Udhayanidhi Stalin's next big film after Nenjuku Needhi released earlier this year and has been directed by Magizh Thirumeni of Thadam fame. The upcoming film also stars Nidhhi Agerwal as the female lead, followed by Bigg Boss Tamil season 1 winner Arav playing the antagonist, while Kalaiyarasan of Madras and Sarpatta Parambarai fame is appearing in a key role.
