'Thalapathy' Vijay's Master has invaded screens around the world, with the long wait for fans finally coming to an end after the film was pushed from its initial release plan of April last year. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Xavier Britto's  XB Film Creators banner with chart-buster music by Anirudh Ravichander, the mass masala action entertainer released as a grand Pongal treat has Vijay pitted against 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi, who plays a deadly villain in the film. With Master taking a sensational start today in theatres, director Atlee, who has collaborated with Vijay on three occasions to date, watched the film's first day first show at the wee hours of the morning at a popular Chennai theatre, and shared his views to the media.

Atlee, who watched Master with his wife Priya Atlee, shared a one word review and said the film is superb through a hand gesture after the screening. It is to be noted that Atlee and Vijay have worked together on three films starting with Theri in 2016, Mersal in 2017 and Bigil in 2019, with all ventures turning out to be sensational box office blockbusters. An ardent fan of Vijay himself, Atlee has often expressed his admiration for the superstar and looked to be bowled over now by his performance in Master, which has been receiving largely positive reviews from fans and celebrities alike.

Master has been a film that has been long-awaited by Vijay fans after it was initially planned to come out in April last year and was gearing up to be a big treat for Thalapathy fans after they witnessed him in action last in Bigil. It came as a big surprise when Vijay announced to collaborate with Lokesh Kanagaraj, who up until then had only one release in the form of his Maanagaram, with his Kaithi starring Karthi then coming out along with Bigil. Soon after Lokesh Kanagaraj was announced to be directing Vijay in Master, the hype for Kaithi as well shot up, with the film turning out to be a big success.

Atlee and Lokesh Kanagaraj have gone on to carve a niche of their own in quick time with their films since their entry in the Tamil film industry. Both directors will be having a busy time ahead starting with Lokesh Kanagaraj, who will soon begin shooting for his Vikram with 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan, which the actor-politician himself is producing under his Raaj Kamal Films International banner. Although it was believed that Atlee would be making his Hindi debut with Shah Rukh Khan, it looks like those plans have since been put on hold as the 'Bollywood Baadshah' is currently working on another project. Last year, Atlee had revealed that he was busy with the scriptwork for his next project, which he has since tentatively titled as A5.
