The highly awaited official word on Superstar Rajinikanth's next movie has been made and here are the exciting details. Leading film production house, Lyca Productions, has signed the legendary star hero for a two-film deal and the deal was signed today (October 28) at Poes Garden. A picture of Superstar Rajinikanth along with A Subaskaran and Tamil Kumaran from Lyca Productions surfaced this evening on social media, taking the fans by delight. It has been officially confirmed by Tamil Kumaran of Lyca that the pooja for the first film of the deal will take place in Chennai on November 5, Saturday.

The pooja will confirm the director of the mega project and if reports are to be believed, the young and promising Cibi Chakaravarthi of Don fame is the chosen one to helm. Bagging a Superstar project in the very second film is something unbelievable and we are sure that the filmmaker must be elated with this development. The first film, Thalaivar 170 will be launched on November 5 and we can expect the social media to be taken by storm. If rumours are to be believed, the second film of the deal, Thalaivar 171 is said to be directed by the legendary Mani Ratnam who is fresh from the success of Ponniyin Selvan.

If the collaboration happens to be true, the hype is sure to multiply by greater levels. Lyca Productions has already worked with Rajinikanth on two films - 2.0 and Darbar and their successful association is all set to continue for Thalaivar 170 and Thalaivar 171 as well. Rajinikanth is currently busy shooting for his next movie, Jailer, which is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures. Jailer features Ramya Krishnan as the female lead alongside Vinayakan, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu, and others in important roles. Jailer has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander who is working with the legend for the third time after the success of Petta and Darbar.
