A film that went on to be mired amid numerous controversies two years back upon its release, Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kutthu starring Gautham Karthik, Yashika Aannand, Vaibhavi Shandilya, Chandrika Ravi and Shah Ra and directed by Santhosh P. Jayakumar of Hara Hara Mahadevaki and Ghajinikanth fame, turned out to be a commercial success. Despite an outcry by many in the Tamil film industry, the adult horror comedy film saw youth audiences turn up in numbers at theatres. Post IAMK, a sequel titled Irandam Kuththu was announced, with Santhosh P. Jayakumar himself turning hero this time. Irandaam Kuththu became the first Tamil film to release in theatres across Tamil Nadu after the lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, which forced cinema halls in the state and around the country to suspend operations.

Irandam Kuththu, which also features Karishma Kaul, Akrithi Singh and Meenal Sahu as the female leads, followed by Daniel Annie Pope , Rajendiran, Ravi Maria, Chaams, TSK, Singam Puli, Swaminathan, Shalu Shamu in supporting roles, is currently running in theatres across the state. Although the film has not received favorable reviews, youngsters have headed to theatres to watch the film, with many conveying their wishes to director Santhosh P. Jayakumar. In that light, one fan complimented the director and queried on his intentions for a third Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu film, who then responded stating that IAMK 3 will be in 2022. Check out the conversation below:

As of now, no details on the supposed Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu 3 or IAMK 3 project ae available and the star cast Santhosh P. Jayakumar chooses for the next part remains to be seen. Whether the cast from the first film will be coming back or Irandam Kuththu team will be retained is unknown at this point. It is to be noted that both films faced considerable objection, who raised objections to the content. Most recently and a couple of days prior to Irandam Kuththu's release, the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court had issued orders for the film's teaser to be removed from all social media platforms stating it included "double meaning and indecent visuals''.
