Official: 24 director's next film title announced | Leading hero and producer on board
24 movie director Vikram K Kumar is one of the well-known filmmakers who has created a niche for himself in both Tamil and Telugu film industries. He got his first major breakthrough with a non-feature film, Silent Scream, for which he won the National Film Award For Best Instructional Film. He made his directorial debut in Telugu cinema with Ishtam, and then directed Alai with Simbu and Trisha in the lead which bombed at the box office. His big break in films came through the Hindi-Tamil bilingual horror film 13B which featured Madhavan in the lead. After that, his journey has been mostly in Telugu cinema apart from his sole Tamil film 24 with Suriya. Even his last film Gang Leader performed well at the box office. He hasn’t made any Tamil films in the past 5 years and even his next film would be in Telugu. He would be teaming up with Naga Chaitanya for his upcoming film which would be produced by Dil Raju.
Speaking to Cinema Express, Vikram K Kumar said - “I am collaborating with Naga Chaitanya and Dil Raju for my next. We have always wanted to work together and I am delighted to team up with them for a family entertainer with the working title Thank You. The story revolves around the two lead characters and we will start shooting once normalcy returns. Vikram also clarified that Samantha is not playing the lead heroine, “we haven't approached anyone so far and are yet to finalise the rest of the cast." Added Vikram.
Recently while talking to us, Vikram K Kumar revealed some details about Thank You - “It is not a horror film, the scripting is almost done and the pre-production works are happening right now. But it’s not a horror film, that’s for sure. It will be self-discovery kind of a film, it has a character driven narrative, it’s about a person who explores his inner side but it will be very entertaining, fun, there is romance in it, there is action, all mainstream elements are there.” It must be noted that Vikram K Kumar shares a very good rapport with the Nagarjuna family. He had earlier made two films for Annapurna Studios, Manam and Hello. Manam was one of a kind fantasy family entertainer which was loved by all section of audience featuring Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya and also the legendary Akkineni Nageswara Rao. We wish Thank you turns out to be as successful as Manam.
