Silambarasan TR's fans have had many reasons to cheer for a while now as the actor is currently attached to a number of high-profile production ventures, including the mass masala political entertainer, Maanaadu, directed by Venkat Prabhu under Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions banner. The highly-anticipated film has generated tremendous buzz, especially after an intriguing and action-packed teaser was released a few months back, to a rousing response from fans. Currently in its post-production stages, there has been talk for a while regarding the release of the Maanaadu first single track.

Producer Suresh Kamatchi on Thursday night took to social media to inform fans that under the current circumstances where there is death and despair everywhere due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is not the right time for any form of celebrations as it will not be the moral thing to do. Taking to his Twitter page, Suresh Kamatchi wrote, "During these disastrous times, only the news of death is being heard every day. Nobody is in a state of mind or has the mood for celebrations of any sort. Even at the entrance of hospitals... At a time when the ruthless coronavirus is spreading fear, it will be an inhumane act for us to release the Maanaadu first single track. Let the lockdown be lifted. Let people's lives return to some normalcy. Until then, friends, please wait like you pray for others. Thank you." Below are his tweets:

STR fans on social media have been largely supportive of Maanaadu team's latest decision and have acknowledged their intentions taking into consideration the serious state of affairs the entire world is at present dealing with. The expectations for Maanaadu have always been high, especially since the project was first announced in mid-2018, with the film finally rolling into production in early 2020. Despite the pressing times, the film featuring music by celebrated composer Yuvan Shankar Raja has generated massive excitement among Simbu fans and we can surely expect it to shoot up once again when the first single gets released.

Maanaadu is also Silambarasan and Venkat Prabhu's first full-length venture after the actor made a cameo appearance in the 2010 hit, Goa. Simbu will be seen playing a Muslim in the film for the first time in his career, with his character's name revealed to be Abdul Khaaliq.
