2021 is set to be a grand year for Silambarasan TR and his fans as the multi-talented star kicked off on a high note with the success of his rural action family drama Eeswaran. Simbu has been treating his fans for a while now with a line of announcements in regard to his upcoming projects that include Maanaadu with director Venkat Prabhu, Pathu Thala under the Studio Green banner, a project being produced by Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh's Vels Films International banner, including the recently-announced venture for the Tamil Nadu Movie Makers Sangam. Among the big lineup of his films, STR's next is the mass masala political entertainer Maanaadu under Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions banner, with the film's official teaser now released.

Maanaadu is packing in massive excitement among fans as it marks the first full-time association for Simbu with director Venkat Prabhu after he made a cameo appearance in the 2010 hit, Goa. Maanaadu will see STR playing the role of a Muslim for the first time in his career, with his character in the film named to be Abdul Khaaliq. The Maanaadu teaser is action-packed from start to finish along with a 'rewind' factor that leaves us intrigued and guessing as to what the plot exactly is. We see STR in full flair and in prime form at the display of his uber cool swag, with the Maanaadu teaser also giving us a big hint that the film will be heavy on action, including the possibility of reverse time travel.

Venkat Prabhu has delivered what looks to be a big commercial entertainer based on the visuals he has shot so far. SJ Suryah, who appears as a cop in the film, too has been given ample space in the Maanaadu teaser, and it looks like it's going to be a big chase between him and STR. Likewise, Yuvan Shankar Raja's inclusion in the film is a big USP and his skills are once again at an elegant high in the teaser, which has us hooked from the start to finish.

Apart from STR and SJ Suryah, Maanaadu's multi-star cast features names like Kalyani Priyadarshan playing the female lead, followed by SJ Suryah, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Manoj Bharathiraja, Daniel Annie Pope, Y. Gee. Mahendra and veteran directors SA Chandrasekhar and Bharathiraja in pivotal roles. Another major highlight in Maanaadu is the stellar technical crew that includes talents namely Richard M. Nathan for the cinematography, Praveen K. L. for the editing, Rajeevan for the production design, action choreography by 'Stunt' Silva and costume designs by Vasuki Bhaskar.
