The highly-anticipated Friends reunion special is all set to premiere on HBO Max on May 27. Friends: The Reunion, as it is titled, will make its debut on the one year anniversary of the launch of HBO Max and also exactly a year after it was planned to premiere on the streaming platform. With the hype getting bigger each day, a new glimpse has now been offered into the Friends reunion special by People Magazine, who have released three photos of the cast members from the beloved sitcom. In addition, People has also done a one-on-one interview with the six Friends cast members - Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer - about their coming together once again and their overall experience shooting the special.

Friends: The Reunion was initially planned to be filmed in February 2020, but was shot in April after a number of delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic that led to the shutdown of the production. The HBO Max unscripted special will see Friends stars, Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc, Perry, and Schwimmer once again at the original iconic soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, where they catch up on their time spent working together on the show two decades back. Reports have stated that each of the six stars have received up to $2.5 million for their participation in the special.

Another big highlight of the Friends: The Reunion special is the reunion of the six stars with other actors who appeared in recurring roles on the show among whom include Elliott Gould, Larry Hankin, Christina Pickles, Tom Selleck, Thomas Lennon, James Michael Tyler, Maggie Wheeler and Reese Witherspoon. It has also been announced that the reunion special will also see special guest stars like David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga,  Kit Harington, Mindy Kaling and Malala Yousafzai making appearances. Friends made a transition to HBO Max from Netflix last year, with the deal for the rights to all 10 seasons of the series reported to have cost over $400 million for WarnerMedia.
