'Superstar' Rajinikanth made a grand arrival and was received with a warm welcome by Nandamuri Balakrishna at the Vijayawada Airport in Andhra Pradesh on Friday morning. The veteran Tamil star made his arrival in the city to attend iconic Telugu cinema doyen N. T. Rama Rao's centenary celebrations today and was greeted with by the legendary actor's son, with photos and videos of their meeting taking social media by storm. Balayya had earlier announced that the centenary celebrations of his father and legendary actor-politician NTR will be graced by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and Rajinikanth, who are taking part as the chief guests at the grand event to be held in Poranki in Vijayawada.

On April 23, Balakrishna appeared in a video and spoke about N. T. Rama Rao's centenary celebrations and also extended an open invitation to the fans in Vijayawada. The event is set to be a monumental one and big arrangements have been made for Chandrababu Naidu, Rajinikanth and Balayya to take stage. Rajinikanth has maintained a warm cordial relationship with the NTR family over the years and also met Chandrababu Naidu sometime back. Fans are looking forward to a special evening later today to witness all three on the stage and share their fond memories of NTR. On the work front, Balakrishna was last seen in Veera Simha Reddy released during Sankranthi this year and is currently working on his next big film, the tentatively titled NBK 108, which also stars Kajal Aggarwal and Sreeleela, and is being directed by Anil Ravipudi. Rajinikanth, on the other hand, will be making a big entry in theatres this year with his Jailer under Nelson Dilipkumar's direction, and is expected to begin shooting for his Thalaivar 170 to be directed by Jai Bhim fame T. J. Gnanavel. The Tamil actor is also set to make an extended cameo appearance in his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth's directorial, Lal Salaam, a sports drama revolving around cricket, which stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead roles and features music by A. R. Rahman.
