"16 years in the industry" - Venkat Prabhu's heartfelt statement after his new milestone in cinema! Check it out!

Tamil filmmaker Venkat Prabhu reached a new milestone on Thursday when he completed sixteen years in cinema as a filmmaker after making his directorial debut, Chennai 600028, in 2007. The sports comedy was the first of the filmmaker's rendezvous with multi-starrers, which went on to become a phenomenal commercial and critical success, with composer Yuvan Shankar Raja's music turning out to be memorable too. In light of the celebrations, Venkat Prabhu took to social media and extended his heartfelt gratitude to Yuvan, his brother Premgi Amaren, producer-actor Charan, and the fans for standing as a big pillar of strength and for their continued encouragement over years, while also assuring that there's more to come. 

Taking to Twitter, Venkat Prabhu posted a photo of himself all smiles alongside Yuvan Shankar Raja, while informing fans that the duo are currently in Dubai working on the background score of the upcoming Telugu-Tamil film, Custody. He wrote, "Wow 16 years in the industry!! Now in dubai working on the background score of #custody with my hero of #chennai600028  @thisisysr (sorry @Premgiamaren ) thank q @charanproducer na🙏🏽 thank q almighty for all the blessings!! Venkat Prabhu's journey in Tamil cinema began with Chennai 600028 after which he went on to deliver hits like Saroja (2008) and Goa (2010), before scaling new heights with the box office blockbuster, Mankatha (2011), starring Ajith Kumar in the lead role. The filmmaker then made films like Biriyani (2013), Massu Engira Masilamani 2015), Chennai 600028 II (2016), while also directing the segment 'Logam' in the anthology film, Kutty Story (2021). Although his web series debut Live Telecast received a mixed feedback, Venkat Prabhu came out all guns blazing with the sci-fi action thriller, Maanaadu, which starred Silambarasan TR and revolved around the concept of time-loop. The hit director tried making a different attempt last year with the adult black comedy thriller film, Manmadha Leelai and also helmed the segment 'Confession' in the anthology web series Victim, and is now all set next for his Telugu film-making debut with Custody, starring Naga Chaitanya and Krithi Shetty, which will be releasing in Tamil in theatres worldwide on May 12.
