The audio launch of Superstar Rajinikanth's Petta is happening at Chennai on a grand scale with the whole cast and crew of the movie. Director Karthik Subbaraj, Producer Kalanidhi Maran, and the stars Vijay Sethupathi, Simran, Trisha, Malavika Mohanan, Sasikumar, Bobby Simha and many more are at the event.
Superstar Rajinikanth who came to speak by the end began his speech with his trademark line 'Ennai Vaazha Vaikum Deivangal aana Tamil Makkale'. Rajinikanth offered his kinder to the people affected in Delta and he also mentioned that he and his fans club are making the best they could to get people relieved.
Rajinikanth spoke,
"I thank everyone for making 2Point0 a big blockbuster. Full credits to director Shankar and Lyca Productions.
The one who initiated 2Point0 is Sun Pictures as they made Endhiran. After #Endhiran's success Kalanidhi Maaran came to me and gave me a Rs 1 Crore cheque and asked me to do Endhiran2. But when we started 2Point0 Sun Picture was not making movies and we moved on to Lyca Productions. Recently, Sembian with his team came to me and told they are producing again with Sun Pictures and they also informed me that Vijay is doing a film and they wanted me to do a film for them as well. After getting on-board, Karthik Subbaraj was in my mind. I called him once again for narration. The second time when he narrated he had developed it so beautifully and we went on with it.
Petta story is completely based on hill stations so we shot in Dehra Dun and many other hill stations. We couldn't shoot here in Tamilnadu due to 'Anbu Thollai'.
Vijay Sethupathi has done a character called Jithu in the movie. It is a negative character. When Karthik Subbaraj narrated the story I was afraid that who would .do that Jithu role. Karthick Subbaraj came up with Vijay Sethupathi's name and then I asked him whether Vijay Sethupathi will agree to do it. A day later he called me and told me that Vijay Sethupathi is acting. Vijay Sethupathi is a brilliant actor. He is a 'Maha-Nadigan' After a long time, I acted with someone who can act so brilliantly.
Trisha has a very small role. I doubted that whether she will do it. But I was very happy to hear that she herself came forward to do this role.
I was thinking for a long time who is going to act in Sasikumar's character. They told me that he will be acting just before the schedule. I felt very happy. He is one of the kindest men I have ever met. He is a very nice human being. He should be very happy for a long time for his nice heart.
I was the happiest when I came to know that Anirudh is going to compose music for the film. During his childhood itself, Anirudh's parents identified the talent in him. I still remember he had a piano in his childhood which was bigger than him. After Anirudh started composing music and when I enquired about him, Dhanush said that Anirudh is the next AR Rahman.
My birthday is coming in 2 days. Last year itself many fans came to meet me and I was not here. I am sorry don't mistake me. I won't be in town for my birthday this year as well.
Karthik Subbaraj extracts acting very nicely. He explains 80's and 90's films. He is a nice version of my fan. Thanks to Karthik Subbaraj for making me act well in the film and keeping me very comfortable."
