Actor Vijay's Thalapathy 66 being directed by Vamshi Paidipally under Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations banner is the talk of the town as the blockbuster production house on Tuesday shared new cast updates. Launched last month in Chennai after a formal pooja, the upcoming film is billed to be a family-centric story along the lines of Vijay's Poove Unakkaga and Thulladha Manamum Thullum and has now added a host of stars among whom include Telugu actor Srikanth, followed by popular Tamil stars Shaam, comedian Yogi Babu, actress Sangeetha Krish, and Bigg Boss 4 fame Samyuktha Shanmughanathan. The announcements have come after Tamil actors Sarathkumar and Prabhu, followed by National Award winner Prakash Raj and actress-politician Jayasudha were officially revealed to be a part of the Thalapathy 66 last week.

Thalapathy 66 is one of the biggest films currently in production and the cast announcements hint at a solid family entertainer appealing to audiences of all ages. The film will also see Vijay sharing screen space with the national sensation Rashmika Mandanna for the first time after she earlier on a number of occasions expressed her desire to be cast opposite the superstar. Rashmika boarding Thalapathy 66 was met with a huge response from fans, with the actress also leaving everyone happy with her antics at the film's launch event.

Apart from the star-studded cast in Thalapathy 66, the Vijay and Rashmika-starrer has a stellar technical team onboard featuring the likes of chart-buster Telugu music director Thaman. S, cinematographer Karthick Palani, editor Praveen KL, dialogues, and additional screenplay written by Vivek and costume design by Deepali Noor. As of now, the first schedule of Thalapathy 66 has been completed and the team is carrying out work on the second leg of filming at a brisk pace in Hyderabad.
