Thunivu is an upcoming action thriller film written and directed by H. Vinoth, and produced by Boney Kapoor. It stars Ajith Kumar and Manju Warrier. The film began production in April 2022 and wrapped in October. It is scheduled to release in January 2023, during Pongal. The music of the film is composed by Ghibran and the first single 'Chilla Chilla' was written by Vaisagh and sung by Anirudh.

Fans of Ajith have been eagerly waiting for the song ever since the announcement was made. The makers, however, are yet to reveal the day on which the song will be unveiled. Recently, after being questioned about the song by the media, Ghibran said
the song will definitely be a "pakka mass" song. He also mentions as an Ajith fan himself he has composed a track keeping in mind his ability to dance and his amazing screen presence. Therefore, it is evident that ardent Ajith fans will love this one.

The distribution rights of Thunivu were acquired by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies while its post-theatrical streaming rights were sold to Netflix and the satellite rights to Kalaignar TV. The film will mark the third collaboration between actor Ajith Kumar, director H. Vinoth and producer Boney Kapoor. The trio have previously worked together in 2019 on the courtroom drama Nerkonda Paarvai and in the action thriller film Valimai which released earlier this year in February.

Meanwhile, on the work front, following the release of Thunivu, Ajith will start working on his next project which will be helmed by Vignesh Shivan. Tentatively titled AK62, the yet-to-be-titled film will be produced by Lyca Productions with its music composed by Rockstar Anirudh Ravichander.
