After a long and patient wait and following several postponements, Hansika's Maha is finally set for its release on July 22 and we are three weeks away from witnessing the film on the big screens. Maha will feature Hansika playing the lead role and the film will showcase her in a completely different dimension. Silambarasan TR plays a special cameo in the film and that is going to be one of the main USPs of the movie. STR will be seen playing Hansika's boyfriend in the film. Srikanth, Thambi Ramaiah, Karunakaran, Mahat Raghavendra, and others play supporting roles.

With the film getting ready for its release on July 22, the makers have now released a new short promo teaser and this promo completely focusses on STR. We see a glimpse of STR's intimate romantic moment with Hansika and it looks like the film will have a lot more to offer. Silambarasan TR's presence has indeed made the film get a wider reach. Maha is directed by debutant UR Jameel, a former associate of director Lakshman, known for directing films like Romeo Juliet, Bogan, and Bhoomi. Produced by Mathiyalagan under the banner of Etcetera Entertainment, the film has music composed by Ghibran, while the cinematography and editing departments are taken care of by J Laxman and John Abraham respectively.

STR, as a lead, will next be seen in Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu which is slated for release on September 15. The film is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and has music composed by A.R.Rahman. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu features Siddhi Idnani as the female lead. STR also has Pathu Thala which is set to hit the screens on December 14. The film is directed by Obeli N Krishna of Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame. Simbu is also expected to start shooting for the comedy drama, Corona Kumar, which will be directed by Gokul.
