A film that was initially scheduled to hit screens on April 9 earlier this year,  'Thalapathy' Vijay's Master's theatrical release has since been put on hold by XB Film Creators, in view of the coronavirus pandemic crisis. With the COVID-19 outbreak yet to be properly contained in Tamil Nadu, including India and the rest of the world, the wait for the highly-anticipated film's release is bound to continue for some more time. There were speculations a while back that the film could make its way to screen this Diwali in November, but no official word has been issued in regard to it, with some stating it will come out in theatres as a Pongal 2021 release. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj during a recent event held by Vijay fans clubs spoke to the media and quashed the rumors that there were plans to release Master directly on the OTT platforms.

Meanwhile, 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi, who plays the antagonist in Master, had recently in an interview for his latest release Ka Pae Ranasingam opposite Aishwarya Rajesh, had spoken about his role in the upcoming 'Thalapathy' Vijay starrer. He provided a philosophical reply and said that people will have a lot of dirt inside them, which they will not be able to let out. But, by playing a villain, he has gotten to do just that. As an actor, he is able to express his anger that one would usually control, and is what he has done in his role as a ruthless villain. He also stated that he enjoyed the role, while adding that fans will be completely satisfied when they witness Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi together on the screen. He concluded saying the film has come out very well and that Master is a masterpiece. Check out the video below:
