An actor who exudes swag on the screen each time he appears, Silambarasan TR is all set to be busy in the days ahead with a number of promising projects lined up ahead. The swashbuckling superstar was revealed to be working hard at the gym a while back and had undergone a massive transformation, with his weight reportedly coming down to 75 kgs from 100 kgs. Having said that, it is now being stated that Simbu will next be joining hands with hit director Suseenthiran for a film to be produced by T. Rajendar under this Chimbu Cine Arts banner.

It has been revealed that the upcoming untitled STR venture will be shot and wrapped up in a month’s time, with production set to roll from the second week of October in Dindigul. There had been reports of Suseenthiran teaming up with Simbu for a while now and it looks like the forthcoming project will most likely be a rural entertainer. Suseenthiran is known among Tamil cinema fans for his films namely Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu, Naan Mahaan Alla, Rajapattai, Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer, Pandiya Naadu, Jeeva, Paayum Puli, Maaveeran Kittu, Nenjil Thunivirundhal, Genius, including Kennedy Club and Champion, which came out in theatres last year. He is also credited with having won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment for his 2011 film, Azhagarsamiyin Kudhirai, starring Appu Kutty in the lead role.

The upcoming Simbu-Suseenthiran project will be a quickie after which the flamboyant star is expected to resume shooting for the highly-anticipated mass-masala political entertainer, Maanaadu, under Venkat Prabhu's direction, which is being produced by Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions. Shooting to a large extent had already been completed before the COVID-19 lockdown had been imposed, which led to an indefinite halt in the film's production. Featuring music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the film is a multi-starrer and includes Kalyani Priyadarshan as the heroine, with SJ Suryah, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Manoj Bharathiraja, veteran directors S A Chandrasekhar and Bharathiraja, among others in major supporting roles.

Simbu is also a part of STR 45, which is speculated to be the remake of the smash hit Kannada film, Mufti, and will see him share screen space alongside Gautham Karthik. Mufti's director Narthan was announced to be making his Tamil cinema debut and under the Studio Green production banner. We can also expect a word on the production status of STR 45 in the days ahead, which as of now depends on the COVID-19 situation in Tamil Nadu to get better.

It is to be noted that Silambarasan had also been confirmed by ace filmmaker Mysskin for a project a while back, but no official word has come out yet in regard to when production will go on floors. As for Simbu's next big screen appearance, he will be seen in an extended cameo in Hansika's Maha being directed by U. R. Jameel. The film has fans excited as it marks the reunion of the actor with Hansika once again after their 2015 film, Vaalu
