Suriya's Soorarai Pottru is one of the biggest hits of last year and it turned out to win the hearts of the Tamil and Telugu audience. The film, which skipped the theatrical release due to the global pandemic and opted for a direct digital release on Amazon Prime Video, opened to highly positive reviews from the critics and the general audience. People felt that Soorarai Pottru brought out the natural actor inside Suriya in flying colours and it became an important film in his filmography. Soorarai Pottru was appreciated by the audience for Suriya's highly intense and energetic performance, GV Prakash Kumar's top class background score, and director Sudha Kongara's conviction in her filmmaking.

Sudha managed to handle the emotions beautifully and the film was neatly packed in such a way that it appealed to all kinds of audiences. Produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment, in association with Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment, Soorarai Pottru talked about the journey of Maara, a man full of dreams. The film was based on the real life incidents of Captain GR Gopinath, the founder of Air Deccan airlines. The film featured Aparna Balamurali as the female lead and the young talent delivered an outstanding performance as Bommi. Aparna managed to earn a very good fan base through her impressive performance in the film.

The film had popular Hindi actor Paresh Rawal playing the antagonist and veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu in an extended cameo. Soorarai Pottru also had Urvashi, Karunaas, Kaali Venkat, Vivek Prasanna, KK (Che), and others in supporting roles. The cinematography of the film was handled by Niketh Bommi, while it was edited by Sathish Suriya. Wonder why we are talking about Soorarai Pottru, now? Well, there is an interesting reason.

Yes! The film is all set to have a dubbed release in Hindi and the Hindi version is titled Udaan, which means 'flight'. There is already a Hindi film titled Udaan and the same title has now been used for the Hindi dubbed version of Soorarai Pottru. After receiving highly positive reviews for the original Tamil and dubbed Telugu version, Soorarai Pottru is now all set for its Hindi release. This will make the film reach the Hindi audience in large numbers. Udaan will have its premiere on Amazon Prime Video platform on April 4.
