Blockbuster Tamil director Selvaraghavan is making his debut as a hero in the upcoming Bakasuran, which will open in cinemas worldwide on February 17. The acclaimed filmmaker will be seen in a full-length role for the first time after impressing fans with his performances in films like Thalapathy' Vijay's Beast last year, followed by Saani Kaayidham starring Keerthy Suresh and his own directorial Naane Varuvean, which saw his brother Dhanush in the lead role. With Bakasuran set to release later this week, Selvaraghavan recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Galatta to talk about his role in the film, while also sharing many of his personal experiences, including opening up on seeking Dhanush's advice on what to do at the shooting spot after filming his scenes.
During the interaction, Selvaraghavan stated, "I asked him only one thing - 'I have a lot of time to myself at the shooting spot. What should I do?' After I finish my portions, the team will be shooting other scenes with the rest of the film's cast. A filmmaker will be involved throughout and he will be running all the time. After I finish my shots, the scenes with the other artistes need to be filmed, right? The film isn't me alone. At the time, the big question I came across was what do I do now that I have finished shooting my scenes? I called him (Dhanush) and he gave me pointers. It'll remain a secret though. I'll tell you at a later date."
Bakasuran is directed by Mohan. G under the G M Film Corporation banner and also stars Natty(Natraj Subramaniyan), Radharavi, Rajan K, Rams, Saravanan Subbiah, D Gunanithi, Tarakshi, Mansoor Ali Khan, Devadharshini, P L Thennappan, Cool Suresh, Sasi Laya, Lavanya, Pondy Ravi, Kuty Gopi, Arunodhayan, with music composed by Sam C. S. As for Selvaraghavan and Dhanush, the duo had earlier revealed that they would collaborate again for Pudhupettai 2 and Aayirathil Oruvan 2, and fans are looking forward to getting updates on those ventures soon.
