Meena is a popular Indian actress who predominantly works in the South Indian film industry as well as Bollywood. Her career spanned over three decades and has been paired opposite mainstream stars in South Indian cinema. She was one of the leading actresses who has acted in various Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films and also several Hindi films resulting in her being a household name among the people. Her contribution to the film industry has won her numerous accolades through the years.

Meena recently lost her husband Vidyasagar who breathed his last on June 25 due to a severe lung ailment. Reportedly, the actress’s husband suffered a severe lung infection. He was undergoing treatment for it at a private hospital in Chennai. He is now survived by Meena and their ten-year-old daughter Nainika, who were both devastated by the news of his passing. The film industry mourned the death of Vidyasagar and several celebrities including Rajinikanth, Sarath Kumar, Khushbu Sundar, Venkatesh Daggubati, Sneha, Prabhu Deva all expressed their condolences and also visited Meena’s residence.

Meena and Vidyasagar got married on 12 July 2009. On what would have been their thirteenth wedding anniversary, the actress took to Instagram to post an emotional message. Sharing a picture of her beloved, she wrote, "You were our beautiful blessing but taken away from us too soon. Forever in our (my) hearts. My family and I would like to thank the millions of good hearts around the world for sending love and prayers. We definitely need them. Very grateful to have friends and family who shower us with love and care and support. We feel the love ❤️🙏🏼❤️ ". Check it out:

Earlier last week, Meena had made another post in which she announced that she is saddened by the loss of her husband and requested the media to respect her privacy. She requested the public not to broadcast false information regarding her husband’s demise anymore. She also expressed her gratitude to those who helped and prayed for her during the difficult times.
