Gargi is an upcoming legal drama film written and directed by Gautham Ramachandran and produced by Ravichandran Ramachandran, Aishwarya Lekshi, Thomas George, and Gautham Ramachandran under the banner of Blacky, Genie & My Left Foot Productions. The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast comprising of Sai Pallavi in the lead role and Kaali Venkat, Aishwarya Lekshmi, R.S.Shivaji, Kalaimaamani Saravanan, Jayaprakash, Prathap, Sudha, Livingston, Kavithalaya Krishnan, and Kalesh Ramanand among others in supporting roles. The film's music is composed by Govind Vasantha with cinematography handled by Sraiyanti and Premkrishna Akkatu and editing done by Shafique Mohamed Ali. The film is scheduled to release theatrically on 15 July 2022 in Tamil alongside dubbed versions in Telugu and Kannada.
It was earlier announced by the makers of Gargi that the film's first single titled 'Yaathri' in Tamil, 'Yaatri' in Telugu, and 'Yathiri' in Kannada will be released today (July 12). The makers held up to their words as the song has been publicly released now.
The song itself is very melodious and soothing to here with its great lyrics and calm music. Composed by Govind Vasantha, the Tamil version of the song has been written by Karthik Netha and crooned by Ravi G, while the Telugu version of the song was written by Rakendu Mouli and sung by Krishna Chaitanya, while the Kannada version of the song was sung by Pancham Jeeva to the lyrics penned by Nagarjun Sharma.
The film's plot revolved around a school teacher Gargi whose life is turned upside down when her father is named as an accused in a gang-rape case involving a minor girl. The rest deals with Gargi’s fight for justice and the challenges she has to face along the way.
