It is all known that Bollywood's ace actress Kangana Ranaut is stepping into the shoes of former Prime Minister India Indira Gandhi for her upcoming film. The makers of the movie recently unveiled the title of the film by sharing the first look poster which is called Emergency. Kangana not only stars in the film in the main role but will be sitting in the director's chair for this movie as well. She will also be producing the film with Renu Pitti under the banners of Ease My Trip and Manikarnika Films Production.
Manikarnika Films Production took to its official Twitter handle to share the first look poster with the public. Sharing the poster, they wrote, "Presenting #EmergencyFirstLook! A teaser from the film has been released as well and gives a glimpse of Kangana Ranaut as Indira Gandhi. One can confidently say that she was given a complete transformation and accurate representation of the great character she is playing. In the teaser, Indira Gandhi's personal assistant receives a phone call. He walks up to Indira Gandhi and says that American President Nixon is asking if he can address her as madam when he calls, to which she says okay. She further tells her PA to tell the American President that everyone in her workplace does not call her madam but calls her sir instead.
Both the first look poster as well as the teaser look incredible. Kangana's portrayal of the character with her body language and slight nuances sells it well and has showcased the best side of Indira Gandhi. Emergency is based on true events that unfolded in 1975. The film chronicles the truth behind the imposition of Emergency in the country that took place under the leadership of Mrs. Indira Gandhi, one of the most Powerful Women in Indian History. The movie is set to hit the theatres sometime in 2023 as the shooting has begun.
