It looks like there is no stopping Ponniyin Selvan from its dream run at the box office. The historical epic which released in theatres on September 30 amidst huge expectations, completed it's one week of run yesterday (October 6) and has now successfully entered the second week. The film holds a great level of occupancy and it looks like this fantastic momentum will hold until the Diwali weekend. That being said, the makers have now officially revealed the latest box office collection of the movie and the update has garnered wide attention on social media.

The Mani Ratnam directorial has made a humongous collection of over 300 crores (gross) and this is the worldwide box office collection in the first week. Collecting a massive amount of 300 crores in one week is no easy task and this tells us the worldwide popularity and buzz that the film holds. From what we see, it looks like Ponniyin Selvan is sure to collect more than 500 crores at the box office. Ponniyin Selvan features Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles and has music composed by A.R.Rahman.
