Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan has opened to positive reviews from the critics and general audience and the film is having a phenomenal run at the box office. It looks like there is no stopping the film's run until the Diwali weekend. The film has already collected more than 300 crores at the box office and has become a highly profitable venture for everyone associated in the trade. Meanwhile, this morning (October 6), Karthi took to his official Twitter page to share his heartfelt happiness after receiving appreciations from two of the biggest icons of Indian cinema - Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.

Both the legends graced the grand audio launch of Ponniyin Selvan and it turned out to be a fantastic strategic move in the marketing aspect of the movie. And now, the two legends have personally called and spoke to each and every member of the cast and crew to heap praise. Karthi shared an official statement, thanking both Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth individually for their appreciations about the film and his performance as Vanthiya Thevan.

Thanking Kamal Haasan, Karthi wrote, "Kamal sir you have always inspired us to seek bigger goals and set higher standards in cinema but more importantly you have taught us to love and respect one another and how to express that in these moments. Lots of love and respects". Similarly, Karthi thanked Rajinikanth with his statement in which he wrote, "Rajini sir, A call from you is extremely special. Your courtesy to reach out to others to appreciate their work and the joy that you give us is always endearing. Thank you sir. Lots of love and respects".

Kamal Haasan witnessed Ponniyin Selvan yesterday (October 5) at the IMAX screen of Luxe Cinemas in Chennai and he saw the film along with Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, and other members from the PS 1 team. With Ponniyin Selvan turning out to be Karthi's biggest ever hit in his career, the star actor is gearing up for the release of his next, Sardar which is slated to release in theatres for the festive occasion of Diwali.
