The grand teaser launch of Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan happened in Chennai on July 8 and the teaser opened to an overwhelming response from the audience. The teaser has already crossed over 25 million views and the numbers are on a steady rise. The teaser launch event witnessed the presence of Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Sarath Kumar, Vikram Prabhu, and Aishwarya Lekshmi from the star cast, while the rest of the star weren't present due to various reasons. Chiyaan Vikram who plays the character of Aditya Karikalan had to miss out on the event due to his ill health.

Vikram was admitted to the hospital following a chest discomfort on 8th July and as a result he couldn't make it to the event. His absence made the fans worried. To those fans who were disappointed about Vikram's absence, worry not! The makers have now released a new video in which we see a glimpse of Chiyaan Vikram's dubbing for the teaser. Only Vikram had dialogues in the teaser cut and he had lent his voice for all the five languages in which the teaser was released - Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. This short video serves as a treat for the fans who missed seeing Vikram at the teaser launch event.

The video has already gone viral among the fans and has started to do rounds on social media. Ponniyin Selvan, directed by Mani Ratnam, has Vikram, Karthi, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles, while Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Sarath Kumar, Lal, Jayaram, Rahman, Aadukalam Kishore, Arjun Chidambaram, and others form the supporting cast. Ponniyin Selvan has been made as a two part film and the first part will be releasing in theatres on September 30 amidst huge expectations.
