Blockbuster Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj took part in Yuva India 2022, a mega youth conference, held at Hindustan College of Arts and Science in Coimbatore, as the Chief Guest and hand out prizes to young students for their short films on drug abuse and awareness on Friday, November 18. A former student of the same college, the hit director revealed to the students and all the esteemed dignitaries present, how he felt proud to return to the campus after 15 years when he completed his studies back in 2007. 

During his interaction, several students posed their questions to Lokesh Kanagaraj, including one who queried the filmmaker about the Ajith Kumar film he would like to remake. The director informed everyone that he would be most interested to remake the 2001 box office blockbuster Dheena, which was the film-making debut of A. R. Murugadoss, and also starred Malayalam superstar Suresh Gopi and Laila, with chart-topping music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Lokesh Kanagaraj's reply sent the students at the Hindustan College of Arts and Science in Coimbatore into a state of joy, with many expressing their desire to witness the director collaborate with Ajith soon. 

On the work front, Lokesh Kanagaraj will be teaming up with Vijay for the second time for their Thalapathy 67, which is yet to be formally announced. The duo will be reuniting after the 2021 blockbuster, Master, and all eyes are now fixed on the big Thalapathy 67 announcement, which many are speculating will be made in December. Ajith, on the other hand, is currently awaiting the release of his Thunivu coming out for Pongal in January 2023 and the actor is also expected to flag off production on his AK 62 with Vignesh Shivan soon.
