The Dragon Knight is the third Kung Fu Panda series and ninth spin-off of the original 2008 movie overall, with the main trilogy of films, four short films, a holiday special, and two other TV shows coming before it. The Dragon Master is back and with him comes the official trailer for Netflix/DreamWorks Animation’s new animated series Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight. The series brings back several previous actors and adds some new ones, as it also features James Hong as Mr. Ping, Chris Geere as Klaus Dumont, Della Saba as Veruca Dumont, Rahnuma Panthaky as Rukhmini, Ed Weeks as Colin, and Amy Hill as Pei Pei.

The plotline of the eleven-episode series reads: When a mysterious pair of weasels, Klaus and Veruca, set their sights on a collection of four powerful weapons leading to Po being wrongly accused of using weapons to destroy a village, he must leave his home to embark on a globe-trotting quest for redemption and justice to clear his name. He crosses paths and partners up with a no-nonsense English knight named Luthera (Rita Ora), or The Wandering Blade. Together, these two mismatched warriors set out on an epic adventure in search of the magical weapons before the weasels and save the world from destruction — and they may even learn a thing or two from each other along the way.

Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight is executive produced by Peter Hastings, Shaunt Nigoghossian and Black. Co-executive producers are Chris Amick and Ben Mekler. DreamWorks Animation is the animation studio. Po’s veteran crew Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Mantis (Seth Rogen), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Viper (Lucy Liu), and Crane (David Cross) are absent from the teaser. Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight is all set to premiere on 14 July 2022 on Netflix.
