It is known that Vishnu Vishal is playing the lead in the upcoming flick Gatta Kushti. Billed as a Tamil-Telugu bilingual, the film is titled Matti Kusthi in Telugu. The upcoming film is a sports based drama that is based on wrestling. Gatta Kusthi is a joint production venture of Vishnu Vishal's Vishnu Vishal Studioz and Telugu star Ravi Teja's RT Team Works. Shoot for the film commenced on Wednesday.

It has been announced by the makers that Aishwarya Lekshmi has been roped in to play the film's female lead. The actress has previously been seen in Tamil films like Action, Jagame Thandhiram, and the anthology, Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadhaa. She is also part of the upcoming Arya starrer Captain and the Mani Ratnam's epic historical fiction Ponniyin Selvan. Vishnu Vishal Studioz production house took to Twitter to make the announcement official and to inform us that shooting of the film has been kick-started. A few pictures were shared along with a caption that read, "#GattaKusthi - @TheVishnuVishal's next biggie goes on floors in Tenkasi. A family entertainer with an interesting sports element! @AishuLekshmi to play the female lead. @RaviTeja_offl @RTTeamWorks @ChellaAyyavu @Richardmnathan @justin_tunes"

Gatta Kusthi is directed by Chella Ayyavu and it will be Vishnu Vishal's third sports film after his debut Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu and the cricket based film Jeeva. The film also stars Sharavanthi Sainath who is famously known for acting in films like Life of Pi and Care of Footpath. The core technical crew includes music director Justin Prabhakaran, cinematographer Richard M Nathan, and editor Prasanna.

On the other side, Krack and Khiladi fame Ravi Teja is currently working for his action drama Ravanasura and has also been cast in The Kashmir Files producer, Abhishek Agarwal's. new film Tiger Nageswara Rao. Ravi Teja will be seen playing the part of an infamous thief from Andhra Pradesh known as Tiger. The film's primary cast also includes Bollywood star Kriti Sanon's sister Nupur Sanon and model-actress Gayathri Bhardwaj.
