Dhanush's Thiruchitrambalam which hit the screens on August 18 continues to attract more audience and second-time watchers even after three other high-ranking Tamil films was released in a span of one week. This was Dhanush's first theatrical release after four continuous digital releases onto OTT platforms (Jagame Thandhiram, Atrangi Re, Maaran and The Gray Man). This Mithran R Jawahar directorial feel-good drama opened to great reception from the audience and it was well appreciated by audience and critics alike. 

Various celebrities took to their social media to praise the cast and crew of Thiruchitrambalam for delivering such an amazing piece of art. The latest to join this bandwagon is none other than the ace filmmaker himself Shankar Shanmugam. Smitten by the film and the performance given by the actors in it, he took to his official Twitter handle to share his view on the film.

Dhanush thanked the director for his loving words. He quoted his tweet on his own Twitter handle and wrote, "Thank you so much sir .. this means a lot to me and my team. ". The sparkling chemistry between Dhanush and Nithya Menen, and performances from Bharathiraaja and Prakash Raja, along with impressive music by Anirudh Ravichander were considered as positive aspects of the film. The movie produced under the banner of Sun Pictures is the first successful project of the production house after nearly a three year long hiatus from the game. 

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shankar is busy working simultaneously on Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 and Ram Charan starrer tentaively titled RC 15. His last outing was Rajinikanth-starrer 2.0. Dhanush, on the other hand, is currently awaiting the release of Naane Varuven directed by his brother Selvaraghavan and the bilingual flick Vaathi (Sir in Telugu). He is currently filming for Arun Matheswaran's Captain Miller.
