A film that is eagerly being awaited by Dhanush fans everywhere, Jagame Thandhiram, directed by Karthik Subbaraj is gearing up for its world premiere on Netflix on June 18 and will be skipping its theatrical release in view of the coronavirus pandemic. Produced by S. Sashikanth under the Y Not Studios banner, promotions for the upcoming film featuring music by Santhosh Narayanan has once again picked up as the makers have now released the 'Nethu' video song featured on the two-time National Award winner Dhanush and popular Malayalam actress Aishwarya Lekshmi. A major highlight of the romantic breezy track 'Nethu' in Jagame Thandhiram is that Dhanush himself has written the lyrics as well as contributed on the vocal front once again, with the song’s visuals showing the lead pair walking through the streets of London and the cute fun moments between them. 

An international gangster film, Jagame Thandhiram has a story that is set in the United Kingdom and will showcase the journey of Suruli, a small-time mafia hit man played by Dhanush, who leaves for London from Madurai for an important assignment. Expectations surrounding the film have been massive right from the moment the project went on floors nearly two years back, with the two previous songs namely 'Rakita Rakita' and 'Bujji' receiving a smashing response from fans. Although there was a bit of a disappointment that Jagame Thandhiram is not coming out in theatres, the talk surrounding the film continues to be largely positive, with the feedback to the teaser released sometime back proving to be a strong testimony. 

Jagame Thandhiram includes apart from Dhanush and Aishwarya Lekshmi names like popular Hollywood actor James Cosmo, known for his appearances on Game of Thrones, and he is playing the chief antagonist, followed by Joju George, Kalaiyarasan, Sharath Ravi, Sanchana Natarajan, Super Deluxe fame Ashwanth among others. The film also has a strong technical team featuring the likes of cinematographer Shreyaas Krishna and editor Vivek Harshan.
