Legendary music composer A.R.Rahman made his debut as a story writer and producer with the musical drama, 99 Songs and the film released in theatres across the country on April 16. Jio Studios distributed 99 Songs on a wide number of screens. The film was screened in theatres with 50% occupancy, but unfortunately, the film had a very short run as the theatres were closed due to the second wave of the Covid 19 virus, in a few days after the movie's release. The film got a fairly positive reception from the fans and music lovers. Having said that, 99 Songs is now all set for its digital premiere. Yes! The film will have its digital release on May 21, coming Friday and it will stream on two platforms - Netflix and Jio Cinema. The official announcement regarding the digital release was made this morning (May 19) and it has made the fans look forward to the film. A.R.Rahman enjoys a phenomenal fan base across the world and everyone will finally get to watch the film through Netflix and Jio Cinema from May 21. 99 Songs will be available to stream in three languages - Hindi, Tami, and Telugu. While Hindi is the original version, Tamil and Telugu are the dubbed versions. Earlier this week, Karnan had its digital release and it got a fantastic response from the film buffs and now let us see how 99 Songs is received. 99 Songs is directed by Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy and produced by A.R.Rahman's YM Movies. The film features newcomers Ehan Bhat and Edilsy Vargas in the lead roles, while Tenzin Dalha, Lisa Ray, Aditya Seal, Manisha Koirala, Warina Hussain, Ranjit Barot, and others played supporting roles. Tanay Satam and James Cowley handled the film's cinematography while the editing is done by Akshay Mehta and Shreyas Beltangdy. GV Prakash Kumar lent his voice for Ehan Bhat's character in the Tamil version. Get ready to witness A.R.Rahman's 99 Songs on your small screens from May 21.
