India and the rest of the world are currently engaged in fighting the coronavirus pandemic, with various forms of relief efforts being adopted by the governments and the people. India too has been facing this crisis unlike any in recent times, especially with the ongoing second wave of COVID-19, which has left millions affected around the country. As a result, several states have enforced strict lockdowns in order to stop the spread of the deadly virus, including in Tamil Nadu till May 24. Apart from the state government's multiple initiatives in the form of vaccination drives and constant medical support, people from various walks of life are coming forward on an everyday basis to lend as much support in the fight against COVID-19. 

Considering the lockdown in the state and the pandemic overall has caused a great deal of stress to the Tamil Nadu government and the people of the state, celebrities are doing their part in stepping forward to lend support in all forms. Several top names from the Tamil film industry have over the past few days met Chief Minister MK Stalin and made donations and contributions to the CM corona relief fund, which is being used to extend support in all forms to the people of the state. Likewise, leading actress Aishwarya Rajesh met CM Stalin on Wednesday and contributed a sum of Rs 1 lakh to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Relief Fund to help the state government combat the crisis caused by coronavirus second wave. She has also extended financial assistance to the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) union by donating a sum of Rs 1 lakh. 

Aishwarya Rajesh has now joined names like Sivakumar and his sons Suriya and Karthi, actors Ajith Kumar, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Sivakarthikeyan, Jayam Ravi, directors A. R. Murugadoss, Shankar and Vetri Maaran, actress Nidhhi Agerwal and many others made donations to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's COVID-19 Relief Fund. On the work front, Aishwarya Rajesh has several big projects lined up next in Tamil among which include Bhoomika, Thittam Irandu, Driver Jamuna, Mohandas with Vishnu Vishal, the Mundhanai Mudichu remake opposite Sasikumar, the untitled remakes of hit Malayalam films namely The Great Indian Kitchen and Ayyappanum Koshiyum and the long-awaited Dhruva Natchithiram with 'Chiyaan' Vikram, including Tuck Jagadish and Republic in Telugu.
