Ajith Kumar's Thunivu is set to be one of the biggest films in the actor's career when it releases for Pongal in January 2023 and all cards are on deck to secure a huge outing at the box office. The mass action entertainer directed by H. Vinoth is the filmmaker's third straight collaboration with the superstar and producer Boney Kapoor, who has bankrolled the film under his Bayview Projects LLP banner in association with Zee Studios, while Red Giant Movies has acquired the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights and Lyca Productions is distributing it overseas. With Thunivu en route to get a phenomenal screen count, Zee Studios has now announced the film's Telugu title to be Thegimpu for the first time.

Zee Studios has finally confirmed the speculations that were rife earlier that Thunivu has been titled Thegimpu and the latest announcement along with a poster of Ajith from the film has now in fact sealed the deal. Earlier, it had been announced that the film's Telugu theatrical rights had been bagged by Radhakrishna Entertainments and IVY Productions, and the two banners will be jointly releasing the film in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. As of now, it looks like the number of screens Ajith's Thegimpu will be getting in the two Telugu-speaking states is yet to be finalized and we can guess that to be known as the film nears its release. Furthermore, it remains to be seen if Thunivu is going to be released in other languages as in line with the actor's previous film, Valimai, which came out earlier this year in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam under the same title, while the Hindi version was called Valimai: The Power. Check out below the Telugu title announcement of Ajith's Thunivu:

Thunivu/Thegimpu is Ajith's third film together with H. Vinoth and Boney Kapoor after their Nerkonda Paarvai (2019) and Valimai (2022) and is carrying tremendous buzz among fans, who are looking for the trio to deliver their biggest commercial and critical hit. The film also stars Asuran actor Manju Warrier as the female lead, while Samuthirakani, G. M. Sundar, Prem Kumar, John Kokken, Bigg Boss Tamil stars Ciby Bhuvana Chandran, Pavni Reddy, Amir, Mamathi Chari, among others are cast in pivotal roles.
