Thunivu is an upcoming action thriller film written and directed by H. Vinoth. Produced by Boney Kapoor under the banners of Bayview Projects LLP and Zee Studios, the film stars Ajith Kumar with Manju Warrier as the female lead. The film is scheduled for a grand theatrical release in January 2023 during the festival of Pongal. As the film is gearing up to entertain the fans and audiences, a major update has come up regarding its development. 

It has been made official that the overseas theatrical right of Thunivu has been acquired by Lyca Productions. The team behind Lyca took to their official Twitter handle to make this announcement official. Thunivu will mark the third collaboration between actor Ajith Kumar, writer-director H. Vinoth and producer Boney Kapoor. The trio have previously worked together on the 2019 courtroom drama Nerkonda Paarvai as well as the action thriller film Valimai which was released earlier this year on February 24. The upcoming film will also star Samuthirakani, Veera, Prem Kumar, Mahanadi Shankar, Ciby Chandran, and several others in pivotal roles. 

Meanwhile, on the work front, following the completion and release of Thunivu, Ajith Kumar will start working on his next which has been tentatively titled AK62. It will also be produced under the banner of Lyca production (the same house who are in charge of the international distribution of Thunivu). The yet-to-be-named project will be helmed by Vignesh Shivan with its music composed by Rockstar Anirudh Ravichander.
